Morrison Stadium
In the heart of America is a floodlit stadium worth the hard work of it's local inhabitants.
Morris Stadium is a 7,500 seat soccer specific stadium, a rarity in the football desert of America. This ground is a home to both the Creighton University men’s and women’s NCAA D1 soccer programs as well as professional USL League One Union Omaha. The stadium itself is located between 17th and 19th Streets to the north of Cass Street, on the east side of Omaha the largest city in Nebraska.
Morris was designed by architecture firm DLR Group and broke ground in 2002, finishing in the fall of 2004. This 21 yr. old, $13 million, ground was named after Michael G. Morrison, the university’s former president. The first goal scored in NCAA Competition was scored by US Soccer legend Clint Dempsey on August 31, 2003, for opposition Furman University. In addition to 2,000 seats the stadium features five luxury suites, an enclosed press box, concession stands and a banquet area. An athletic training room and locker rooms were built in the adjacent Ryan Athletic Center, which opened in 2009.
